Boutique transactional law firm with a primary focus in the representation of producers and financiers in film, television and digital content is seeking a senior associate. This is a fast paced growing firm and the position will involve drafting, revising and negotiating contracts with direct client interaction.
Day to day responsibilities include overseeing production, financing and distribution legal matters, as well as direct interface with clients and negotiating with third parties on all transactional matters. The associate will also have oversight of admin staff for their matters.
Skills: Must have at least 2-5 years of transactional experience working in house or at a firm- production legal in film or television is preferred, specifically:
• Reviewing, revising and negotiating performer agreements, chain of title agreements, producer agreements, music licenses, composer agreements;
• Preparing script and film clearance reports;
• Preparing delivery to a third party distributor;
• Basic formation of SPV and reviewing financing agreement;
• Basic understanding of distribution and/or license agreements; and
• Detail oriented, highly efficient, can work in a team environment, proficient in drafting and problem solving.
This is an excellent opportunity for an associate who has experience in drafting, revising and reviewing contracts and wants to expand their role to more client interaction on a practice solely focused on entertainment.
