Entertainment Law Firm seeks Associate Attorney for position opening mid to late July 2017. Applicant must have a minimum three years (post law school) of development and production experience at an entertainment law firm, studio/network, or digital media platform.
Candidate must be able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Duties will include:
• Draft and negotiate above and below-the-line agreements for film and television projects.
• Assist project attorneys with reviewing agreements in connection with day-to-day production legal services provided by the firm for TV,
movie, and new media projects (e.g. vendors, locations, artwork/footage, music licenses etc.)
• Negotiate and draft development agreements (e.g. rights acquisitions, production services, etc.)
• Coordinate with project attorneys, clients, production companies, studios and networks to provide analysis and advice on production
matters, guild issues, and clearances.
Requirements:
• J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
• Active Member of the California State Bar.
• Minimum three years of experience as set forth above.
• Candidates with production legal experience in scripted series content and feature films, finance and loan matters, or guild matters
(SAG-AFTRA, DGA, WGA) will be given priority.
Details:
• Position open for mid to late July start.
• Salary to be based upon experience.
• Health Insurance eligibility after one month of employment. Eligible to participate in firm profit sharing program after one year.
• Located adjacent to Century City.
• We are looking for applicants seeking to grow with a firm focused on production legal. The position is not ideal for applicants looking to
eventually be talent attorneys.
