Summary
The Assistant Editor is responsible for preparing and organizing projects materials through all stages of the digital, non-linear video editing process; supporting editors, producers, coordinators and the finishing team of a marketing post production company.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
• Strong working knowledge of AVID an ISIS
• Strong working knowledge of post production workflows and procedures
• Overseeing Media Management
- Importing/exporting, transcoding, asset management, project archiving
• Building finish preps for internal and external finishing facilities
- Overcutting, uprezzing, EDLs/Bins, audio preps
• Ensuring editors have all support materials needed
- Scene breakdowns, dialogue breakdowns, shot pulls
• Creating support documentation
- Continuity breakdowns, VFX breakdowns, pull lists
• Previous Theatrical/Broadcast Marketing post production experience highly desired
• Must be able to work quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Identify and troubleshoot technical problems
• Desire to work as an editor or in post production in the future
