Entry-Level Assistant Editor Position
Freelance with Staff Possibility
Busy but fun motion picture trailer house seeking a freelance Assistant Editor (with staff possibility for the right person). The Assistant Editor is responsible for preparing and organizing projects and materials through all stages of the editing process; supporting editors, producers and finishers. We are looking for someone that is a team player and willing to work at a company that values a team atmosphere. We work on Digital Content, TV spots, Trailers and EPK. Willingness to work with the team to complete tasks quickly and efficiently is essential.
Job Duties and Requirements
-Strong working knowledge of AVID and ISIS.
-Strong working knowledge of post-production workflows and procedures.
-Strong attention to detail.
-Experience with Adobe Media Encoder, Compressor and various compressions and conversion settings a plus.
-Experience in Davinci a plus.
-Overseeing media management
-Importing/exporting, transcoding, asset management, project archiving.
-Prepping for internal and external finishes (Overcutting, OMF, AAF, EDLs, final exports, HDCAM SR layoffs).
-Pulling soundbite selects, b-roll selects, organizing dailies, shot breakdowns.
-Creating music cue sheets and script syncing transcripts.
-Familiarity with RAW camera formats and codecs a plus.
-Previous Theatrical/Broadcast Marketing post production experience a plus.
-Must be able to work quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines.
-Strong desire to work as an editor or in post-production in the future.
Rate commensurate with experience.
