Growing independent movie channel specializing in family-safe movies looking for experienced AE/tech to help clean up our movie archive and prep projects for delivery. This is a temp position that has potential to turn into a permanent for the right person.
Responsibilities
• Complete picture preps for network delivery and archive. This includes transcoding between different codecs and framerates, synching audio to picture, and spot QC.
• Performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting on all related equipment, including LTO tape decks, capture and output hardware, broadcast monitors, mixers, fibre-channel and SAS adapters, control surfaces, etc.
• Act as primary technical resource for post production. Escalating issues to IT team as needed.
• Managing backups, improving workflows and documenting post production procedures.
Requirements
• 3+ years experience in broadcast environments.
• Strong knowledge of video formats, protocols and encoding standards.
• Deep understanding of Avid Media Composer and various transcoding applications/platforms.
• Working level of experience or familiarity with DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere & After Effects, and Final Cut Pro.
• Working level of experience or familiarity with HDCAM decks, capturing and layback to tape.
• Basic understanding of networking technologies - switching, patching, Ethernet, SDI, fibre-channel.
Additional Qualifications
• Technical background in supporting Mac Pro based edit stations including build-out, configuration and troubleshooting.
• Extensive experience supporting and troubleshooting Mac OS X and related software.
• Experience with video streaming platforms for content delivery.
