A leading entertainment news destination is searching for an Art Director. This role will be responsible for the conceptual development, brand unification, and execution of creative deliverables across multiple media platforms. Responsibilities include conceiving functional design solutions, creating and communicating concepts, implementing marketing strategies, and managing a collaborative team of designers, artists, and developers. The Art Director must demonstrate an ability to balance creative thinking with an ability to lead, inspire, and justify concepts to both upper management and the project team.
Responsibilities:
• Initiate and oversee every artistic aspect of the brand
• Examine and understand the overall brand objectives, and develop and implement original concepts and effectively communicate ideas that support the vision of the brand
• Create designs, concepts and layouts based on knowledge of brand objectives, layout principles, typography, color theory and other aesthetic design concepts
• Confer with management to determine and brainstorm design and creative concepts
• Oversee creative projects and give direction to team members in a busy production environment
Requirements:
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree combined with 5 years of experience leading the creative for television and interactive brands
• Must be a creative and passionate individual who is self-motivated, a team player, a brilliant problem solver, able to adhere to strict deadlines, with a great eye for aesthetic detail
• Must be able to demonstrate an outstanding portfolio of work
• Experience overseeing creative projects, giving direction and leading design teams
• Must be a strong conceptual thinker – with a sound understanding of strategy and the ability to develop ideas from concept to production
• Strong grasp of website functionality, production processes, and user interaction and experience
• Able to evaluate, trouble shoot, and solve problems logically
• Able to analyze and discuss creative concepts in a clear, rational and objective manner
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal); able to communicate problems/issues clearly with coworkers, supervisors and clients
• Must be able to work on multiple projects and excel in a fast-paced team environment
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and motion graphics programs
• Superb eye for detail and impeccable organization skills
