Full Time Unpaid Internship
We are currently seeking unpaid interns for an exciting feature film production this fall in New York.
ASHER is a political thriller about a latino college student who infiltrates the Black Israelites to write a research paper, but ends up uncovering a potential terrorist plot. The film stars Danny Glover and Mekhi Phifer, and is beginning prep on Sept 29 and shooting Oct 20 - Nov 25 (5 day weeks, 12 hour days).
This is a great opportunity for students or other young filmmakers to get hands-on experience working on a terrific project. The script has been recognized by the Tribeca Film Institute and the producing team has nearly a dozen feature films under their belt. This is a professional independent production where our crew will be treated with respect and kindness. We want this opportunity to be a positive experience for you, and a great development opportunity as you consider exploring a film career.
We are currently looking to fill needs in the Art department (working for the Production Design team on sets, backgrounds, locations, construction, etc.), the Wardrobe department (working for the Costume team), and the Production department, including working in the production office for the producers. We will attempt to tailor your internship toward your areas of interest, and find the right fit for you.
What we're looking for from you -- while this is an unpaid position, we are only interested in candidates that are absolutely reliable, committed, and passionate about working in film. We'll do the best to make this a great opportunity for you, but we need you to do the same for us. We prefer candidates who are able to work full time, though we are open to part-time (at least 20 hours a week) in special circumstances. Any previous film experience is very helpful. But most important is reliability and enthusiasm. If we bring you onto the team, we need to know that you're committed to doing the job. We're in this to make an extraordinary film, and only a lot of dedication and hard work will make that possible.
