The Archivist / Backup Engineer role is to provide oversight and ownership of the network environment, troubleshoot and resolve potentially complex issues. The shift hours will be 11AM - 8PM.
JOB SUMMARY:
This person will be responsible for planning, installing and maintaining an Enterprise Backup and Archiving environment and related infrastructure in a 24 X 7 setting. The primary focus of this position will be to support backup solutions which consist of Quantum i500 Scaler tape robotic libraries, Quest Netvault backup software, manual archiving and cataloging of drives. Other duties will consist of scheduling and monitoring backups, performing problem determination on failed backups, reporting monthly measurements and managing storage capacity, making recommendations to improve environment, propose solutions to issues in a planned timeline, maintaining current documentation, attending scheduled meetings.
As a member of the storage team, you will work closely with technical services and support teams, external vendor partners, and internal customers to develop and implement storage solution for business initiatives. This would include gathering project specifications and requirements, designing a solution, gathering cost, ordering, and implementation of the solution.
QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 3 years experience running tape backup solutions (NetVault not required).
A working knowledge of computer systems (Mac OS required).
Entertainment industry experience is a plus
BS not required but a plus.
