Prominent Nashville-based record label seeks a talented, driven, and team-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their dynamic finance & accounting department.
Key Functions:
Process all accounts payables on a daily basis applying proper codings by business unit, department, class, general ledger account, and recoupability for each transaction
Acquire all departmental approvals and accompanying documentation prior to processing
Process company 1099's annually and prepare IRS 1096 report
Extract UPS weekly billing statements from website and prepare weekly jouranl entries applying proper codings by business unit, department, class, general ledger account, and recoupability (if applicable) for each transaction
Setup of album and single project codes in all company systems
Prepare monthly postage report and accompanying jounral entry
Research vendor inquires regarding payment status
Respond to vendor and departmental inquries within 24 hours of receiving request
Organize weekly manual check run by attaching invoice backup to each check for approval by ControllerMail signed checks weekly and provide updates to vendors as necessary
Create weekly deposits
Assist other Finance staff with Concur expense report processing as needed
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Music Business related field required
Experience:
2-3 years of accounts payable and/or general accounting experience prefered
Prior record label or business management experience preferred
Prior history of working in NetSuite, Quickbooks, or similar accounting software prefered
Skills and Abilities:
Extreme attention to detail
Strong customer service and team building skills required
Ability to work under pressure and within hard deadlines
