Vice President of Business Affairs (2-3 years of experience))

Compensation: Salary + Health
Our client is a digital entertainment startup and the largest scary content brand on digital. We make social and digital video content for a thriving audience of genre lovers (horror, paranormal, true crime, aliens, conspiracy theory, cosplayers) and have quickly built up an outward facing brand with prestigious partners. We distribute across social and mobile - our Facebook has over 2,000,000 followers alone - and work with the world's biggest movie studios (Universal, Sony, Fox, Paramount, WB) and best brands. We need a full time, ambitious attorney who is responsible for structuring, drafting, negotiating and advising on complex development, production, distribution, rights and other media agreements for our content across all our digital platforms. The Vice President of Business Affairs will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
Responsibilities
Managing and creating the entire legal business infrastructure for the company
Drafting deal memos and agreements from scratch on the fly under tight timelines to meet deadlines every week.
Able to negotiate and close new agreements with clients and vendors on a weekly basis, we move very fast
Build a rights management and licensing system with our content department to manage all of the Content media rights
Create non-nonsense templates and boilerplates for the business/sales and content team.
Oversee with the COO, the HR and operations of the Company to make sure we are complying with all local, state and federal laws.
Qualifications
JD Degree
Must be member in good standing of California Bar
2-3 years related legal experience in entertainment/television law fir or a fast paced media start up environment
Deep understanding of copyright and media rights management
Understanding of start up and business finance is a major plus
Ability to move multiple projects forward simultaneously, and have the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
Ability to work proactively, independently and reliably under tight time frames in a fast-paced environment
Willing to make work and success of the company an absolute priority
