Position Purpose:
Responsible for leading day-to-day aspects of domestic sales campaigns and project objectives for both assigned and new partners including prospecting new business opportunities at both retail and non-retail business for the exploitation all of Concord Music Groups assets.
Core Responsibilities:
- Report to Senior Vice President of Sales
- Work closely with assigned UMG accounts along with cultivating direct B2B business and exploit new non-traditional sales opportunities
- Oversee day-to-day sales duties in conjunction with Senior VP of all sales related aspects of Concord Music Group with a focus on Rounder Records
- Responsible for existing accounts and development of new business
- Field strategy and execution includes cold calling on potential new partners and providing operational input to projects
- Responsible for planning, execution, cultivation and monitoring of creative sales campaigns at retail, wholesale and non-traditional retail
Outline of Specific Functions:
- Evaluate market conditions and help coordinate what product spread is necessary on new releases and for our artists on tour
- Monitor BDS, Media-base and Soundscan to determine breakout markets and direct distribution in positioning campaigns to create additional exposure and sales
- Communicate Concord Music Group priorities to assigned accounts and interaction with Universal Field Representatives
- Participate in weekly P&L, production and marketing meetings
- Develop media planners with distribution to maximize sales with effective use of advertising
- Monitor sales programs with back end analysis to determine effectiveness of campaigns
- Identify and cultivate sales opportunities outside of traditional music retail outlets within all Concord Music Group's labels
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years experience in sales and marketing, preferably in music based entertainment
- National label sales experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the sales and marketing field
- Solid understanding of retail sales and marketing with a solution based outlook
- Sufficient computer skills including MS Office Suite
- Outstanding presentation and public speaking skills
- Strong business acumen and result oriented
- Solid understanding of managing P&L budgets across projects
- General acceptance and agreement with the Company's core values
