Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Radio/Podcast/Comedy producer to further produce and develop a currently airing, daily show hosted by comedic talent that incorporates opinions, interviews, listener interactive segments, entertainment commentary, and remote broadcasts. This candidate will collaborate closely with the Sirius XM producer, Talent Booker/Social Coordinator as well as an internal task force at Comedy Central comprised of Consumer Products, Multiplatform Content and Strategy, Talent & Development and Programming.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Manage overall flow of show and multimedia elements and live calls
-Communicate show highlights and upcoming guests to SiriusXM Comedy Exec and talent department
-Generate and update calendar with show tracking (live, pre-tape, dark weeks, guests, topics etc.)
-Responsible for sending host-read ad requests to Comedy Central for approval and ensuring confirmed ad loads are met.
-Oversee Talent Booker/Social Coordinator and help to book guests and guest hosts as needed.
-Conduct pre-interviews with guests and prepare materials for hosts.
-Collaborate with hosts and Talent Booker/Social Coordinator to generate and plan interesting show topics and guests that will create lively dialogue that engages the interests of the audience.
-Write program topic bullet points to establish and re-set the topic each hour for listeners.
-Develop contests and promotions and ensure proper execution.
-Provide hosts with feedback to continue evolution of the shows.
-Contribute to specials and event coverage in addition to regular daily show, and participate in relevant breaking news coverage.
-Generate show recaps for Comedy Central Radio task force.
-Oversee the Social Coordinator to further grow social media presence for the shows.
-Meet with CC Radio task force on a weekly basis to review and establish goals for the shows.
-Deliver weekly host time sheets to Comedy Central for processing.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
5+ years in radio/podcasting production
Requirements and General Skills:
-Excellent communicator
-Strong relationships with publicists
-Experience in current events, entertainment, television, movies, books, and pop culture
-Comfortable working with talent, artists and high profile individuals
-Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and work under shifting deadlines
-Some travel and weekend work may be required
