City Room Creative is looking for an Assistant Editor with a passion for unique and independent films to join and support our talented team of editors, producers, and creative directors. We are a boutique company focused on making artistically driven trailers that stand out amongst the rest. Potential candidates should have a high level of technical literacy, excellent communication and organizational skills, extreme attention to detail, an ability to meet deadlines and perform in a fast paced environment, and an insatiable desire to learn.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
QC all incoming and outgoing film, video, and audio assets
Sync media files and prep projects for editors
Importing/exporting, transcoding, asset management, project archiving
Building finish preps for internal and external finishing facilities
Prepping, outputting and uploading deliveries for TV and web
Identify and troubleshoot technical problems
Conduct all matters in a professional and courteous manner
Collaborate and coordinate with workers and other departments
Skills & Requirements
Strong working knowledge of Mac OS X, Adobe Premiere, Media Encoder, and Final Cut Pro 7
Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects is a major plus
Familiarity with post production workflows and procedures
Deep & extensive understanding of media formats, frame rates and audio/visual codecs
Ability to jump between multiple software programs and tasks
Solution-oriented thinking and a positive attitude towards creative and technical challenges
Prior experience with theatrical, broadcast, and/or commercial content in a post-production environment a major plus.
