Part Time Job
POSITION SUMMARY
This is a part-time position, starting immediately. 20+ hours per month March - May; 50+ hours per month June - July.
The Program Coordinator for our Summer Arts Intensive will be responsible for the recruitment of groups from camps and local community-based organizations to participate in our pilot summer intensive program for youth for the 2017 summer. Partnering with the Center for Arts Education (CAE), CPF's program will be designed to support students during the summer months using the SummerStage Festival, and the history and culture of our city, as a backdrop for an aesthetic arts education program. The curriculum will establish experiential study around a specific performance that participating youngsters will see in each of five parks as part of the SummerStage Festival, including a special kids-only matinee in Central Park, which is open to all program participants. The program will be designed to help students engage with the performance while also making connections to their own lives and the world around them. 2017 is designed to be a pilot year for the program and will be evaluated at the end of the summer to determine future program plans.
The Program Coordinator will work flexible hours -- approximately 20 hours per month from March-June for recruitment and 60 hours per month during the summer program (approximately June 12 - August 4). The Coordinator is expected to be onsite at SummerStage locations when youngsters visit for workshops.
