Reporting to the Production Manager, and working under the supervision of the Head of Lighting, you will be required to:
- Fill in for the Head of Lighting as needed;
- Assist the Head of Lighting in all tasks related to planning and managing staff requirements and schedules for the Video/Projections team;
- Assist the Head of Lighting in preserving the artistic integrity of the projection effects in collaboration with the Designer and the Artistic Department, and participate in changes to the Show and on its ongoing development;
- Participate in determining and maintaining training and backup plans to ensure continuity in performance operations of the Video/Projections Department;
- Troubleshoot and oversee operation of projected effects systems during performances;
- Maintain and update the projection effects installation specifications, cueing documentation, inventory of special effects material and equipment, and all pertinent inspection and maintenance schedules, procedures and records;
- Assist in coordinating performance and rehearsal run-throughs with other departments and apply safety standards to ensure a safe working environment;
- Take part in developing emergency procedures for show systems and ensure the projection team is trained and familiar with these procedures;
- Assist in developing and carrying out special projects as required;
- Participate in load-in and load-out;
- Complete all other duties required by the Production Manager, or Head of Lighting.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- College-level diploma (or equivalent) in live entertainment or theatre production (or relevant work experience);
- Minimum five years' experience in the entertainment industry;
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications for Windows;
- Knowledge of video matrix;
- In-depth knowledge of hardware and software applications related to projection effects systems - D3 MEDIA SERVERS System and projector;
- In-depth knowledge of hardware and software applications;
- Black Trax Tracking system knowledge an asset;
- In-depth knowledge of network hardware and Ethernet cabling;
- Knowledge and experience with Robot cam and box cam;
- Knowledge of different types of video signal is essential;
- Fluency in spoken and written English is essential; Fluency in French an asset;
- Arena touring experience an asset.
