Cinesite is recruiting a Story Artist to join our Featured Animation team. The ideal candidate should be motivated and well-organized, with the desire to work within a fast-paced team of highly-skilled and experienced artists.
The Role:
Translate story ideas into visual sequences based on notes and meetings with the Director, Head of Story and other members of the Story team.
Work closely with the Director, Head of Story, Art Director and other members of the production team, you will strive to convey the essence of the story, scene structure, and character emotion, and create action and humour in alignment with the direction of the film.
Responsible of the cinematography planning and staging; from initial camera placement and angles, to defining character action and camera movement.
We'd like to talk to you if you have the following:
Bachelor degree (preferred).
Minimum 5 years professional experience (required); Feature Animation or Animated Television experience preferred.
Proven ability to produce strong boards that clearly convey the character's intent, timing and action.
Strong drawing skills with a keen sense of design, appeal, character acting, and composition.
Ability to work digitally, including in Photoshop, Storyboard Pro, and/or similar software applications.
Ability to create action and humour expressed through drawing.
Previous experience working on multiple feature films and/or television series as a Story Artist.
Strong understanding of cinematic scene and dramatic structure.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
