Cinesite Montreal is seeking a Lighting/Compositing Artist to join our Feature Animation team. The ideal candidate should be motivated and well-organized, with the desire to work within a fast-paced team of highly-skilled and experienced artists.
The Role:
-Work with the Lighting Lead and senior artists to understand the look of individual sequences to achieve technical and artistic objectives while respecting the story.
-Receive master shots for sequences and work with direction from the Lighting Lead to light and composite them.
-Light and composite shots using prescribed software and programs, in line with the technical and creative requirements of the Feature Animation project.
-Harmonize the creative and technical aspects of each shot.
-Ensure that shots meet the render requirements and are completed in a timely fashion.
-Submit shots in dailies and work with the team to discuss and resolve issues pertaining to the shots.
We'd like to talk to you if you have the following:
-An understanding of light, shading and colour, as well as of composting principles and practices.
-An understanding of stylized lighting required for an animated movie.
-Ability to work well within a team environment and take direction from Supervisors as appropriate.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Minimum 2 to 4 years experience in a similar role in the animation industry (required).
-Strong proficiency in Maya and Nuke.
-Previous experience in lighting and rendering using Arnold (advantageous).
