Job Purpose:The Cincinnati Reds are looking for two interns for the 2017 baseball season to work in the Digital Media Department. These Social Media Interns will manage the Reds Connect Zone (social media area) in the ballpark during home games, as well as assist in the creation of content for various Reds social media platforms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Staff the social media area on select game days, with most of schedule falling on nights and weekends. (Games will be split between both Social Media Interns and Fan Accommodations staff.)
• Approve social media content from fans to be displayed on ballpark videoboard and screens in the Reds Connect Zone.
• Distribute check in prizes, answer questions from fans and loan out charging cords during games.
• Manage schedule of guests and activities in the social media area.
• Create and execute engaging content for Reds social media platforms – including graphics, copy, photos, video, etc.
• Assist in creation, scheduling and execution of social media events and promotion/contest fulfillment.
• Update Reds content for MLB Ballpark App throughout the season.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Must be available to work April through September and 15-25 hours per week. When working games, Intern will arrive 2 hours before game time and stay until 30 minutes after game ends.
• Demonstrate a grace-under-fire personality that does not require constant supervision, but is nonetheless eager for more responsibility.
• Possess a positive, can-do attitude that looks for solutions to problems and is always willing to pitch in where needed in the organization.
• Must have experience with various social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Snapchat and Pinterest.
• Possess excellent communication, writing and organizational skills
• Be detail-oriented and have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
• Have great customer service skills as well as ability to present a professional presence
• Have a strong knowledge of Reds baseball necessary
• Prefer candidates that have video and photo editing experience and/or graphic design skills
• Must have a passion for social media and baseball
Work Environment:
• Work will be performed in the ballpark where the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
• Hours include nights, weekends and holidays.
Please Note:
• This is a seasonal position and no benefits will be provided.
• Position will end at the conclusion of the Reds 2017 season.
