Scope
The assistant technical director is responsible for the care and maintenance of all audio, video, and lighting systems as well as participating in the recruiting, training and development of volunteers in use of all major technical systems.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Assist the Technical Director in the development and execution of Sunday services and special events
• Develop Volunteer Production Team by exhibiting Christian leadership, positive coaching and skill development
• Work closely and in-step with the Technical Director to implement a shared vision for Sunday services as well as other ministry leaders for all ministry audio-visual needs
• Responsible for the maintenance of all technical systems: audio, video, lighting, on the entire campus
• Provide insight and direction to stay up to date on live production trends and technology
A Week in the Life of an Assistant Technical Director
• Provide discipleship, training, scheduling, and leadership to production volunteers
• Programming and production of Sunday services, as well as Wednesday and Thursday rehearsals, and other special events (weddings, funerals, seasonal events, conferences)
• Program unique lighting, visuals, and sound to complement the music and message in a way that creates a special and immersive worship experience
• Attend production and staff meetings as required
• Ensure the success of Sunday services and special events through exhaustive maintenance of the audio-visual inventory
• Maintain quality audio and video recording and editing of weekly services for distribution
Qualifications
• A truly devoted disciple of Jesus Christ with a servant's heart
• A teachable spirit and a commitment to Christ Chapel Ministries' vision of, mission, and values, and culture of empowered leadership.
• At least a high school diploma
• An Associates degree or technical degree is preferred
• 4+ years working in a live production or church environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in working with and coaching people of all ages and generations.
• Demonstrated experience in building and supporting teams of volunteers.
• A working knowledge of Planning Center Online, ProPresenter, analog and digital mixing consoles, lighting systems, intercom, PC and MAC computers, and audio recording software (Nuendo Live)
• Proven ability to lead and work well with all levels of staff and volunteers
• Passion for using the technical arts to create a meaningful worship experience
• Flexibility is a must as this position can require working on evenings and weekends
• Ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and use good judgment in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and be a team player
• Ability to receive and process feedback effectively
