Considerations: This role works extended hours (evenings and weekends) at key points leading up to the Festival (October 13-27, 2016)
Position General Summary: Works with the Artistic Director and Marketing Director in producing high quality creative assets that are on-brand across an array of print and digital media.
Essential Job Functions and Duties:
• Creates a range of materials including ads (print and digital), marketing materials (Schedule guides, Program Book, playbills), environmental graphics, sponsor signage, merchandise designs (apparel and accessories), digital invitations, eblast templates, presentations, newsletters, etc.
• Creates graphic assets for use on digital platforms, including external sites, social media, and more.
• Assists in the production of graphic systems and design asset kits as directed.
• Tracks timelines with printer to ensure deadlines are met and attends press checks as needed.
• Assists with the production of environmental graphics for Festival programs and events
• Works with the Branding Team to review and approve graphics used by outside vendors, partners, and outlets to ensure that they are applied appropriately.
• Obtains edits and approvals required to move projects to their next stage and generates edits on projects as requested.
• Assists with maintaining the design calendar to reflect accurate approval, printing, and deadline dates and updates internal calendar.
• Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Employee has legal authorization to work in the United States.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• 3 years graphic design experience, including pre-press
• Experience creating graphic assets for digital platforms.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• A graphic design portfolio that demonstrates creativity and versatility of skills.
• Excellent typography skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Constant Contact.
• Superior organizational, time management, verbal, and written communication skills, with excellent attention for detail.
• Exceptional project management and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to adapt to the various styles and personalities within a team.
• Must have initiative and excellent ability to juggle multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities at the same time.
• Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment that changes constantly.
• Ability to not only recognize problems and inefficiencies, but also to propose process solutions and improvements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and Google Applications.
• Knowledgeable in printing production methods.
