This Paralegal opportunity will start out in our Culver City office but will be permanently located in Burbank by August.
The Paralegal is responsible for providing administrative and legal support to the General Counsel. Accuracy, good organization skills, attention to detail, timeliness, diligence and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential and of utmost importance for this position. Prior in-house paralegal experience and familiarity with litigation filings, contracts, legal entity filings, regulatory reporting, labor and employment issues, intellectual property filings, legal research, and law firm billing practices is required. This is a fast-paced, demanding role which requires the ability to prioritize and multi-task while delivering a quality product in a timely manner.
Essential Functions:
• Oversee filings relating to corporate governance, IP, and litigation matters
• Review and process our standard responses to subpoena requests
• Serve as primary point of contact for company-wide requests for NDA's
• Maintain files including legal entity related documents, leases, contracts, trademarks, etc.
• Maintain legal entity reporting
• Review and process law firm invoices internally and coordinate invoicing matters with law firm billing contacts
• Assist with monthly expense reports
• Prepare various regulatory reports and filings
• Assist with Excel-based reports
• Ability to conduct effective legal research and public records searches
• Additional short-term and long-term projects as assigned
Requirements:
• College graduate or equivalent
• Minimum of 4 years' experience as a paralegal
• Notary is a plus
• Experience with exposure to confidential information and an understanding of the importance of maintaining such confidentiality including personnel related, legal and financial information
• Strong knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Visio
• Experience in the entertainment industry is a plus
