The Senior Vice President of Strategy & Business Development will identify, evaluate, develop and implement growth opportunities for CNBC in a way that strengthens the brand, expands revenue streams, and aligns with CNBC's long term growth strategy. The role will work closely with internal CNBC, NBCU and Comcast stakeholders and business units to evaluate both organic and inorganic strategies.
• Responsible for Identifying and screening new venture and acquisition opportunities for CNBC
• Be a thought leader for developing and executing innovative growth strategies; thinking outside of existing ways of working / operating models
• Build strong relationships with internal leaders / stakeholders across CNBC, NBCUniversal and Comcast; foster two-way communication to ensure opportunities are shared and explored
• Drive collaboration on organic and inorganic opportunities across CNBC, NBCU and Comcast
• Coordinate with and/or lead commercial teams and key stakeholders to conduct commercial analysis and due diligence on potential transactions; active involvement and leadership in all major negotiations
• Work with CNBC and NBCUniversal's International businesses to spot cross-business / multiple territory opportunities
• Serve as key member of CNBC leadership team; execute on ad-hoc projects when necessary
• Represent CNBC in the external marketplace; actively network to build strong relationships and have full understanding of competitive landscape
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
• 10 years of experience in corporate strategy, business development, and/or consulting within the following industries: Media, Digital, Entertainment, Management Consulting or Investment Banking; prior operational experience would be hugely beneficial
• Management Consulting or Investment Banking experience must include work within the Media, Entertainment or Digital space
DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS
• MBA or comparable graduate degree with significant commercial experience
• Experience growing a business, thriving on seeking ways to monetize existing activities, expand revenue streams and forge new models that align with long term growth strategy
• Superior strategic, analytical and presentation skills; ability to articulate and execute strategies; proven track record of successful negotiation
• A clear thinker with external focus and excellent communication and relationship building skills; ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple manner
• Experience of successfully operating within cross functional teams and in a matrixed environment
• Interest and expertise in digital technologies
• Intellectual curiosity about and passion for media/entertainment
• Charismatic, impressive and effective leader; credible at board level
