Responsibilities CNBC has an opening for Product Manager - Video
As one of our Product Managers, you will play a critical role in evolving our digital video capabilities, offerings, and reach. You'll work hand-in-hand with internal stakeholders and partners, engineers, business development, research, and others to continually evaluate and evolve our video platform and product offerings.
You'll be focused on growing CNBC's digital video products by increasing video views, engagement and revenue while improving customer experience and developing workflow efficiencies.
Responsibilities of the Product Manager may include, but are not limited to:
• Collaborating with the Video team (Product, Tech, Design, QA, Project Management, Customer Care), and other CNBC teams, to define video product features and experiences.
• Working cross-functionally with vendors, stakeholders and the larger NBCU organization (Sales, Editorial, Marketing, Legal, etc.) to achieve team and product goals.
• Working directly with the Director of Product Management - Video to prioritize the Video team's body of work (including product discovery, developing new features, fixing bugs, etc.),
• Writing and maintaining user stories for the the video team's products and platforms in JIRA, and working with the team to implement and UAT these stories.
• Develop video product requirements and specs based on internal needs and external market opportunities; explore ideas with engineers and designers
• Being a major contributor to the Video team's user research activities, a strong evangelist for user interviews, testing, and analyzing results.
• Leveraging quantitative and qualitative data to inform the team's product strategy.
• Working with internal and external stakeholders to communicate product strategy, app release progress and launch communications.
• Researching emerging technologies to identify new business opportunities for our products.
• Research and report on competitive products in the direct video distribution space, including other LIVE and VOD services
• Conduct competitive analyses of similar and potentially disruptive digital product offerings of other media companies and start-ups.
• Run prototyping sessions and usability tests with customers
• Assist the Director of Product Management - Video with the preparation of presentations, reports and other product meetings that require assets, materials, data or research
• Stay current with Film, Television, Internet, Mobile, Connected TV, and digital trends to help inform areas of product development
Qualifications/Requirements
• 3 years of product management and development experience of designing, developing, and deploying digital products using Agile / Scrum methodologies
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communications skills
• Experience working in the digital video products or video distribution space
• Excellent relationship management along with budget management, negotiation, and organizational skills
• Competent soft skills necessary to work across cross- functional teams
• Accustomed to driving results in collaborative, cross-functional environments with little instruction or oversight.
• Effective communicator (both written and oral) comfortable speaking in front of diverse audiences.
• Strong business understanding of the ever-evolving media industry
• Experience with the Agile methodology and writing user stories.
• Experience with prioritizing user stories and defects.
• Experience with user/customer research, customer interviews and/or usability testing.
• Experience with the product discovery process and collaborating with users and project teams to test and iterate a concept.
• Experience with establishing and analyzing KPI's/metrics, and being able to make recommendations based on data.
• Ideal candidate is resourceful, self-starting, has a strong work ethic.
• Adaptability and ability to work in a fast-paced real-time environment with rapid changes in focus.
• Technical competency strongly desired.
