Role Summary and Essential Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Head of Guest Booking, the Guest Booker works in conjunction with show teams to develop live segments by finding and booking compelling guests for the show. Additionally, the Guest Booker generates original guest ideas daily, tapping into a broad array of sources for ideas. The Guest Booker will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with new and established guests.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking an entry into a career in journalism and TV news production, with a keen interest in business and current affairs. Strong candidates include those pursuing degrees in journalism, communications, media or business/economics.
• Booking and coordinating guest segments
• Conceive segment and story ideas, interview pointers, and elements for shows - work with the production team to develop these ideas into compelling programming.
• Research stories and guests and work to uncover new angles on stories.
• Networking with guests and PR representatives.
• Writing headlines and interview descriptions of guests interviews that are uploaded on CNBC.com
• Communication with news teams, senior producers and news editors, anchors, and operation staff regarding guest interviews.
• Strong news judgment to be able to conduct pre-interviews and prepare the guest for their on-air appearance, resulting in a robust interview.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Requirements and Desired Characteristics:
* Those willing to learn and work in a fast-paced, demanding live news environment
* Computer literate, strong communication and organization skills
* A great team player with the passion to work varied hours when chasing a story * Ability to handle deadline pressure and work under the demands of a daily live show
* Languages: fluent in English. Chinese fluency or any other Asian second language is an advantage, but not essential
* Prior internship experience in TV news, contacts within the industry and/or experience in carrying out interviews preferred, but again, not essential
