CNBC is looking for a talented Multimedia Journalist who will be a key member of our online video team and help create high-quality, timely and innovative video news and features. Reporting to an Executive Producer.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Day-to-day publishing of numerous videos on a quick turnaround basis.
Develop innovative ideas and new concepts for video story telling.
Work side-by-side with CNBC.com journalists and video editors to rapidly turn around clips for our web/mobile properties.
Ability to watch CNBC interviews and identify key elements for video descriptions and roundups, generate copy, and add relevant video clips.
Collaborate with online journalists and TV producers to expand the brand and video content on the website, and create compelling new ways to present.
Knowledge of both web and television production preferred. Familiarity with live streaming technology desired.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS
Degree educated with journalism post graduate or professional qualification.
Sound experience in producing, writing and/or editing for the web.
Camera and shooting skills would be advantageous.
Ability to perform in a high-volume, multi-task/deadline oriented environment.
Willingness and desire to make good, quick editorial decisions on video clip selection.
Demonstrates a passionate interest in presenting the sometimes complex concepts in news and current affairs as compelling stories.
Familiarity with one or more content management systems or the ability to quickly learn new systems a plus.
Display smart judgment and awareness of how to make business news, data and features into compelling videos that builds an audience and promotes sharing.
Knowledge of and interest in the business world and financial news is preferred.
Prolific user of social media and understanding of key social platforms for professional purposes.
Familiarity with all areas of web and multimedia production and design including, but not limited to HTML, DHTML, Photoshop, Flash, web A/V digitizing, editing and encoding techniques.
Solid understanding of web standards, design and usability, and common web and application architectures.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong writing skills.
