Establish and maintain relationships with and be knowledgeable and current in personal finance and retirement. Flag upcoming events and propose coverage ideas to enterprise team. Research/report on personal finance issues as discussed with reporter. Work with reporter to decide best live and taping locations. Map out on air and online rollout plans, based on editing schedule and newsworthiness. Communicate with CNBC newsdesk editors on available live times, understand and be owner of all live hit requests, disseminate hit times to reporter and on the ground team. Call into the control room whenever a shot is live. Clearly communicate with control room producers when producing a live event (timing, elements, availability). Work with dotcom editor and digital video team to grow original personal finance videos and ''Retire Well'' franchise. Make sure that reporter(s) has all needed material. Make certain that assignment desk and digital editors have information needed.
Field Producer researches topics for TV and digital, writes scripts, produces tape shoots, writes radio scripts, keeps detailed personal finance and retirement calendar. Additionally, Field Producer will research and produce graphics for reporter's speaking engagements.
Areas of coverage focus on personal finance, including retirement, student loans, college planning, financial planning and investment strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 2 years field producing in live television environment with a demonstrated writing ability, research skills and communication skills. Strong digital experience preferred. Bachelors Degree. Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program.
