Responsibilities CNBC is seeking a high-performing individual to help drive our events business. We're looking for a dynamic team player who will thrive in a fast-paced, hardworking entrepreneurial atmosphere.
As a Director of Sales Marketing, you will help to drive and execute events marketing strategy for the global leader in business news and money-themed content. You will partner with the events sales leadership, events editorial leadership and ad sales teams to determine client needs that align with brand strengths to co-create marketing strategy and tactical execution thereof. You will create and provide sales with the messaging, knowledge and tools needed to close sponsorships and cross-platform deals. You will participate as a thought leader who has a keen understanding of industry trends and key influencers.
Sponsorship
- Produce and maintain all general conference sales collateral, including presentations, sell-sheets, mailers, the media kit, and e-blasts
- Partner with ad sales and integrated marketing to respond to event-focused RFPs and create custom proposals for clients
- Write and design sponsor recaps for all events to articulate client ROI and emphasize quantitative success from events
- Maintain regular communication with the global ad sales and integrated marketing teams to ensure they are up-to-date on conference sponsorship opportunities and organize all conference sales trainings
- Attend and participate in client meetings and pitches
- Develop sponsor activation ideas for proposals in coordination with the event production team
- Work with ad sales to ensure a smooth transition of sponsors to the event production team post-sale
- Work directly with sponsors along with sales rep on all aspects of their activation to ensure expectations are met
Sales Marketing
- Ownership of sales marketing strategy, initiatives and collateral for CNBC Events, including content on the CNBC Events marketing website, videos / sizzle reels and coordinating with the social media team
- Develop CNBC Events' sponsor social media strategy and execute all campaigns, including writing posts, overseeing sponsor integration, and tracking/analyzing social activity
- Project manage all sales marketing videos, working directly with the creative and production teams on storyboards, shoots, and editing
- Support audience development team with recruitment initiatives by assisting with copy-writing and ensuring that a strong brand identity is maintained across their promotional channels, including email campaigns, invitations, and print/digital ads
- Ensure event ROI is measured for all stakeholders by helping to create attendee surveys
Miscellaneous
- Integral member of the CNBC events team, participating in team-wide meetings, trainings, and retreats
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop new event properties that align with CNBC editorial priorities and revenue goals
- Assist in the production of event creative briefs to ensure the sponsorship and brand marketing perspectives are represented in the vision for each
- Staff various events, supporting on-site as necessary Qualifications/Requirements Qualifications/Requirements
• 6 years of experience in sales marketing with a focus on events, especially with B2B and thought leadership focus within the following industries: Media, Digital, Entertainment.
