Responsibilities CNBC is proud to be the number one channel for business news worldwide, and critical to our success is CNBC International's team of digital reporters.
We are looking for an experienced financial reporter based in Singapore, with a proven track record of writing compelling, accurate and balanced proprietary business stories for a global audience.
You should have the ability to create news stories based on financial events, comments from CNBC television interviews, analysts' reports and other reliable sources. You will react to breaking news in a timely manner, regularly updating developing news stories with catchy headlines and strong lead and context paragraphs.
An accomplished features writer, you have a natural nose for story angles that will appeal to a global audience and are able to contribute long-form pieces for special reports under tight deadlines.
Amid a rapidly-converging journalism landscape, you are a skilled story-teller on multiple platforms, comfortable with using our content management system to produce robust stories with relevant videos, images, graphics and links. You embrace social media as a source of news and a distributor of content.
A self-starter, you are an independent worker, yet also s strong team player who can work in a dynamic and energetic team. Qualifications/Requirements Desired Skills and Experience
You have in–depth knowledge of financial markets, business concepts and economics, particularly within the Asia Pacific region. Substantial experience as a reporter in a fast-paced news environment is also key, preferably with wire services or mainstream news outfits.
You have excellent writing ability and news instincts, paired with exceptional communications and reporting skills.
Strong time management and the ability to multitask are necessary to juggle multiple stories under tight deadlines. You should also be comfortable with shift work associated with a 24-hour news operation.
Knowledge of social media is a massive plus, as is experience working on content management systems.
