Full Time Unpaid Internship
KCBS2/KCAL9, the CBS Owned & Operated Duopoly in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to gain practical learning experience how broadcast news operates the fast-paced, Community/Public Relations department. Supervised by the department director, the intern will be involved in the day-to-day operations.
Required Qualifications:
Mandatory Skills/Experience Required:
• Enrolled in a full-time accredited college or university, and be an incoming Junior or Senior in the fall semester.
• Must have analytical, communication, human relations and presentation skills
• Must have an interest in entertainment-television industry
• Ability to understand and take direction with a can do attitude
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
• Administrative office duties and assigned reports
• Answer incoming viewer e-mails, calls and departmental inquiries
• assist in routine talent coordination of appearances and photo requests
• assist with production & coordination of public service campaigns & initiatives
• general event planning, coordination & attendance of station initiatives
• understanding of general public service announcements, prepping & guidelinesAdditional Information
Educational Requirements:
• Must be enrolled in a full-time accredited college or university.
• Must receive course credit, and/or provide a letter of acknowledgement from direct advisor stating that this internship will directly benefit candidates' degree in human services, public relations, communications and/or other as approved.
