Local Sales provides
successful candidates the opportunity to learn from a team of talented,
successful and creative Account Executives who call on the top advertising
agencies and clients in Chicago who are willing to share their knowledge of the
broadcast sales industry with the right candidates.
Our Sales Marketing area develops promotional and revenue generating campaigns
for existing and new clients and coordinates prospective audience casting calls
locally (when available) for such CBS
Programs as ''Survivor,'' ''Amazing Race,'' ''Big Brother'' and ''The
Price Is Right,'' as well as other client-specific promotions. They also produce
commercials and promotional spots for clients as needed.
The Business Development team enhances our traditional sales efforts by calling
on new businesses or New-To-TV businesses to share information about television
advertising on CBS 2 Chicago. Further,
they discuss our ability to produce commercials and media plans for those who
have not advertised in the broadcast media.
Our Digital Sales
department works with advertisers, ad agencies and clients to develop web-based
campaigns to compliment traditional broadcast schedules as well as stand-alone
digital campaigns.
Our Community Partnerships
section of sales collaborates with current and prospective partners in outreach
and educational campaigns that benefit the community and enhance sales.
Interns also respond to
viewer calls regarding CBS 2 Chicago and CBS Network programs. They also assist
the sales team with day to day business and help maintain customer records.
Sales interns will also work closely with the Sales Service/Traffic
area. This arm of the sales operation places the commercials in specific
time periods, assigns broadcast codes, and is responsible for the accuracy of
the stations' official broadcast log.
Candidates will assist
Account Executives, Sales Management and Sales Assistants with Research
Projects, Presentation Preparation, Off-Site Events and Miscellaneous Office
Projects. Interns in this area may also participate in assisting the
Promotions and TV Executive departments with various projects.
