***This position will consist of mostly weekend and holiday shifts***
• Observe and report activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel.
• Identify potential safety and privacy hazards, and create a secure work environment by working closely with set security, production crews and client staff.
• Make periodic patrols to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.
• Checks ID cards of persons entering the lot.
• Refuse admittance to individuals who cannot show either proper authorization or cause for being admitted.
• Provide information and directions.
• Explain rules and regulations.
• Preserve order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
• Control access to client site or facility through the admittance process
• Patrol assigned site on foot or in vehicle; check for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
• Protect evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations.
• Respond to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents.
• Identify involved parties at incidents and obtains statements of involvement
• Prepare logs and reports as required.
• Communicate effectively using hand held radios and telephones in order to receive and disseminate information, as necessary.
• Operate hand-held radios and operate key locks proficiently.
Required Qualifications:
• Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must possess a current, valid Guard Card issued by the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS)
• Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers.
• English Language skills (verbal and written) must be at a level to communicate and give directions effectively during emergency situations.
• Must have emergency operations and first-aid knowledge
• Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling.
• Frequent sitting, standing and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain.
• Work in indoor environments, including booths, pedestrian control rooms, stages, offices, lobbies, buildings and parking structures, among others.
• Work in outdoor environment and be subjected to rain and other weather elements.
• Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
• Effectively handle and turn keys, operate a keyboard (type information and reports) and grasp and manipulate hand held radios,
• Must be able to work any shift, which include night shift (4pm-midnight) and Graveyard shift (midnight - 8am)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior military or law-enforcement experience
• Possess valid basic CPR/AED Training Certificate
