Full Time Paid Internship
The QA Engineering Intern will become part of CBS Interactive's dynamic technical community which will provide opportunities to work with open source technologies, develop innovative projects, and craft solutions using new technologies.
If you are a highly-motivated, self-starter who enjoys tackling technical and business challenges this internship is for you. You will have the opportunity to build strong working relationships with coworkers and company management, while becoming part of a dynamic group of people that are all passionate about sports, technology, and getting the user the content she / he wants with the highest quality possible.
Role Responsibilities:
This internship position will provide the selected candidate real-world development experience by working on projects that will support and test our most critical systems. The intern will be exposed to many areas of the internal workings of CBSSports.com by participating in various unique test automation projects, including feature testing, performance testing and load testing.
The intern will meet with both a pre-selected mentor and the QA Engineering manager on a weekly basis to discuss progress towards personally set goals, to plan for the upcoming week, as well as to address any issues that the intern encountered during the week.
Opportunities:
• Gain further experience developing test automation with Python & Selenium
• Learn how to test various applications using several different testing strategies including full web sites, RESTful API systems and video streaming systems
• Learn how to work with docker, Selenium WebDriver and appium for mobile apps
• Learn how to work in an environment led by Agile Methodology
• Exposure to the Software Development Life cycle and how it works in the real world
Logistics:
• Time commitment: full-time, 40 hours per week during our regular office hours (Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm) but times may vary per team
• This is a paid internship and can also be for university credit if it meets your university's guidelines
Qualifications:
• Experience with Selenium WebDriver or appium
• Experience developing applications in: PHP, Python, PERL, Ruby, Django, Rails, or similar environment
• Experience testing web based systems
• Technical analytical, debugging and problem-solving skills
• Strong desire to learn new technologies and techniques
• Solid organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
• Ability to establish professional relationships with team members
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Currently working towards a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related software engineering field
• 3.0 GPA or above
Additional Requirements:
• Intern must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
• Must be at least 18 years old
