General Job Description:
WDJT-TV CBS 58 for Milwaukee and Southeastern Wisconsin News is searching for an experienced Weekend Anchor/Reporter to join our growing news team. We?re looking for an anchor leader who can work well with the producers and reporters. We need a person who likes the balance of anchoring and reporting. During the week we need a reporter who will bring lead stories to the table and not wait to be handed a press release.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Prepare and deliver accurate News reports for weekend newscasts as well as report and research compelling content for multiple platforms as assigned during the week.
Produce general assignments reports that will air on CBS 58 newscasts and be responsible for contributing to our website and social media platforms.
Interact with producers and news management on story updates, breaking news, and long-term projects.
Interact with viewers and promote coverage through social media such as Facebook and Twitter.
Other duties, as assigned.
Requirements:
Three plus years' anchor experience and a degree in Journalism or related field required.
Ideal candidate will also have experience in news reporting.
Must have strong anchoring and reporting skills
Strong content gathering skills
Must be a strong writer with solid news judgment
Some investigative reporting will be required
MMJ experience preferred.
Must be flexible in scheduling.
Valid driver's license and insurability required
This job requires a self-starter with good news judgment, strong writing ability and solid live skills.
