Assignment Desk Editor
General Job Description:
CBS-58 seeks an Assignment Editor to join our news staff.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Generate story ideas, monitor scanner traffic, manage daily assignments and update our station website and other digital platforms.
Other duties, as assigned.
Requirements:
Flexible schedule: Hours will vary, Dayside, nights, weekend or overnights.
Must have assertive newsroom skills including strong news judgment and ability to determine editorial content of newscast on a daily basis.
Candidate should have excellent communication skills
Must have strong writing skills for broadcast and digital copy.
Must be able to handle a high pressure environment and multiple tasks under strict guidelines.
