Freelance Video Strategist - Adaptations and Licensing
BuzzFeed Video is looking for a Video Strategist Resident to join our social team in Los Angeles, CA. We're looking for a creative, collaborative, jack-of-all-trades with a preferred background in social strategy, or digital media. The Video Strategist Resident will work closely with the Licensing and Adaptation teams, and the ideal candidate will be comfortable juggling multiple projects at once.
Using research and data, the Video Strategist Resident should be able to identify, adapt, and reframe successful content for different platforms. The Video Strategist Resident should be comfortable writing copy for videos, researching content, and providing data to inform the future videos. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
• Ideation for 15-20 licensed and adapted videos per week
• Reach out to and license content from creators of user-generated content
• Gathering user-generated content for 3-5 licensed videos a week
• Search and identify successful adaptation frames from archival footage
• Informing editors of high-performing content
• Giving notes and feedback on video sequence and copy
• Determine which platform content lives on and help increase page growth
Requirements:
• Understanding of the digital landscape and a proven interest in keeping up to date with developments in across major social platforms and the online video ecosystem.
• 1-2 years with a social or digital media background
• Obsessive knowledge of current pop culture and social trends.
• Fantastic sense of at least one social platform is a must, having your finger on the latest trends in video is a major plus
