We currently have an opening for a Compensation and Benefits Lead. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this person will take the lead on defining and implementing our compensation strategy globally as well as manage our benchmarking processes and compensation planning cycles.

The Compensation and Benefits Lead is a “hands on” role. You will be expected to both think strategically to set the vision and also perform analysis and ensure compensation processes run smoothly.
Responsibilities:
• Lead benchmarking, survey analysis, and analytics development while staying current on industry trends
• Design and oversee our global compensation programs including sales comp, equity, cash, recognition, and benefits
• Work with with HR Business Partners and managers to solve compensation related issues
• Create and innovate programs that meet the needs of our various functions, business areas, and growth
• Provide insight and leadership to team members and executives that will contribute to shaping the way we think about attracting and retaining the best people at BuzzFeed.
• Collaborate with other People Team members to implement compensation processes that connect with our systems and are user-friendly
• Build and document procedures to streamline processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Develop and deliver compensation training for managers and employees.
• Provide subject-matter expertise on topics related to benefits, perks, and compensation.
Qualifications:
• 8-10 years of work experience in compensation analysis, preferably with some experience in house at a pre-IPO company
• BA/BS degree with an emphasis on work of a quantitative nature, or related practical experience.
• Very strong Excel skills, including building and maintain complex models.
• Experience communicating effectively across teams, including translating quantitative insights to non-quantitative audiences.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high growth, rapidly changing, fun environment.
• Self-motivated and assertive
• High degree of personal integrity
