We currently have an opening for a Commercial/Advertising Attorney in our NYC office. We are looking for a business-minded and self-motivated commercial attorney to support our business operation with at least 5 years of experience in the commercial, technology and/or Internet (preferably media) sectors; advertising, intellectual property, software licensing, internet marketing and regulatory law experience a plus.
This job is based in our NYC offices, and we offer competitive compensation and a stock option program.
Key Responsibilities
• Support all of BuzzFeed's business units in drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements, including advertising, research and marketing, events, vendor, license, business development, SaaS, and other technology, and other commercial and operational contracts.
• Provide advice on all legal matters affecting the business.
Qualification and Skills
• Must be an admitted attorney with at least 5 years relevant experience at a law firm or in-house legal department
• Contract law and Internet or technology law experience required whether in a commercial contracts or transactional context. Experience with advertising and/or media industry, and regulatory experience in the advertising industry a plus.
• An ideal candidate will also have a practical, business-oriented approach to problem-solving and thrive in fast-paced environment, tempered by an appreciation of legal complexity and risk.
• Strong desire to learn the business and function smoothly as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Must be able prioritize and to manage workload and meet deadlines within a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
• Must fit the strong collegial culture in the department and the company.
