BuzzFeed Video is seeking a freelance video editor for their new travel page, Bring Me. This position will work closely with a group of video producers on content related to awesome travel spots and awe-inspiring food. A successful candidate will have experience and a passion for narrative content, digital formats, great puns, and loves thinking outside the box.
This is a full-time, 3-month temporary assignment based in our Los Angeles office with opportunity for extension.
Responsibilities:
Edit and package roughly four 1-2 minute videos a week
Coordinate post production for many different projects
Track and manage status of many projects at once, and be in charge of organizing all footage on master drives
Remain extremely organized in an ever-changing environment
Ability to be agile with changing timelines and deliverables
Collaborate with creative team and managers
Work with assistant editors to enable an efficient workflow
Requirements:
Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator Media Encoder; After Effects experience a major plus
Thorough knowledge of color correction
Experience in producing and creating video/online branded content for similar online media or entertainment brand is a plus
Good at spelling and high-level English skills for writing text
Takes notes with enthusiasm
2-3 years of video editing work for cutting unscripted or fun promotional-type content for the web
Strong background in conceptual, creatively strategic, and visual thinking
Ability to rapidly execute in an environment with tight timelines
Great time management skills - must be able to work on multiple projects at once while getting notes on others
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Candidates must provide a reel/sample portfolio of work via a web viewing link
