Bret Adams, Ltd. Literary, a well-regarded boutique theatrical agency, is seeking a highly motivated self-starter to aide three literary agents. We handle playwrights, designers, directors, and composers who are working in New York, across the United States, and abroad. We are dedicated to supporting each of our clients-their work and their careers-as we continue to develop and encourage new work and new talent.
The ideal candidate will possess exemplary written and oral communication skills, excellent phone manner, exceptional organizational skills, and be a positive personality. We are looking for a reliable, proactive, self-motivated individual capable of multi-tasking, problem solving, and working under pressure. Candidate must be comfortable interacting with clients, artistic directors, and producers on the phone, through email, and in person. We are looking for someone who absorbs new information quickly and can follow through on projects to their completion. The assistant is a member of the team and will work closely with each agent.
The position's responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Fielding a high volume of calls and emails
- Tracking client submissions while updating and maintaining our database
- Taking notes during meetings and following up with producers and general managers
- Scheduling meetings and managing office calendar
- Negotiating and executing agreements with amateur theatres and foreign producers
- Tracking contracts in process
- Overseeing a small team of interns
- Maintaining agency's web presence and intra-office communications systems
- Tracking and monitoring incoming payments
- Covering new scripts and productions
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web design tools (Wordpress and basic HTML)
- Proficiency with Google Apps for Work
- Knowledge of social media (Twitter, Facebook)
- Prior entertainment or office experience preferred
Salaried position with benefits and bonus based on yearly performance.
