Philadelphia film distribution company is looking for a Film Publicist. If you have a Communications, Public Relations, or film degree with experience, read on my friend… We are a mid-size company making a big impact in the film industry worldwide. At the BGP offices, we're laidback. Our workplace is family style. Not exactly the 'large pasta dish served at an Italian restaurant kind,' but we're all in this together!
Note: Our current publicist is relocating and knows of the job posting. We have an excellent relationship and she is willing to train the person who is taking over her job. She has also offered to stay on as a consultant until the new hire is comfortable.
This gig might be for you if:
You enjoy writing press releases, get a kick out of working with writers, directors, actors and filmmakers, and you know all the big entertainment and film publications. You are extremely motivated, detail oriented and driven. You take ownership of the time you spend with us and truly want to make a difference.
You're good at
• Writing press releases, creating press kits, and editing
• Developing media relations with key film critics and editors
• Creating weekly publicity reports
• Direct marketing and all types of social media
• Google analytics, SEO/SEM, marketing database, YouTube, and display advertising campaigns
Extra awesome
• Detective work! We want you to find all avenues to promote our films.
• Problem solving! i.e. following up with publications
• Design, build and maintain our social media presence
As the Publicity Guru for BGP a typical day might include the following:
• Updating and maintaining our lists and connections
• Coordinating reviews and features
• Developing media relations with key film critics and editors
• Reaching out to publications to promote our films
• Cutting exclusive clips in Final Cut Pro
• Identify trends and insights, optimize spend and performance based on the insights
We'd love if you:
• Are computer savvy with all types of social media - Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Wordpress
• Working knowledge of applications including Excel and Outlook
• Experience using Cision, Final Cut Pro, and Robly software
• Attention to detail and can juggle! Or just multi-task…
• Requires Degree in Communications, Social Media, Public Relations, or Film
• Knowledge of independent film is highly desirable
• Requires at least 2 or more years job experience
Hours 12-8pm Mon- Fri
Recent BGP releases include Alex de la Iglesia's Spanish comedy MY BIG NIGHT, Oscar-contender SAND DOLLARS starring Geraldine Chaplin, crime thriller ALL MISTAKES BURIED starring Sam Trammell, and the upcoming MMA action movie FIGHT VALLEY featuring the biggest names in UFC.
