Interns at Braven Films are responsible for a range of duties spanning the production and development departments. As support for the development department, interns will complete coverage, the first step in the evaluation of incoming material, and help to compile source materials. Braven also encourages all of its interns to actively scout for new material, be it an article, book, play or film. Interns may also be called upon to help research new writers and directors, help generate lists of talent to reach out to as well as formulate pitch materials for the company and presentations. This is married with general responsibilities of proofreading and assistance in drafting correspondence. This will require them to present their coverage and research to department head. In the production department, interns will assist with office management responsibilities including: rolling calls, researching travel options, booking flights and hotels, liaising with vendors, drafting email correspondence, creating spreadsheets, helping to organize expense reports, handling mail, making runs and organizing communications. Due to the intimate nature of the company, interns are exposed to a great deal of educational information. A successful intern will learn the ins and outs of an independent production company over the course of their internship.
