SUMMARY OF POSITION
Bolder Road LLC seeks a Lead Buyer for its entertainment-themed eCommerce websites. The Buyer will be responsible for executing the inventory plans for multiple ecommerce websites to meet sales revenue and gross profit objectives. This position can be filled in either our New York, NY or Burbank, CA office.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage the Open-to-Buy for five leading eCommerce web sites featuring world-recognized entertainment-themed brands.
• Ongoing review and selection of all of licensee product lines to identify profitable new products for online shops. Establish unit/profit sales goal for each new item that will be used by Administrator to benchmark reorders and/or markdowns. Responsible for insuring adequate quantities of trend right and saleable product is in stock to meet sales and profit goals.
• Develop annual property and category plans.
• Analyze sales history and profitability by item, category and property to identify optimal initial order quantities.
• Develop pricing strategies: initial retail, promotions, markdowns and discard products in concert with Director and Administrator.
• Develop merchandise strategy for new properties and initiatives; source product from licensees.
• Develop on demand product with licensees as part of overall merchandise mix.
• Analyze weekly sales data and use to drive future buying decisions.
• Provide SKU specific recommendations for email campaigns, site merchandising and other marketing efforts (Facebook, Twitter, etc).
• Manage the Coordinator in all aspects of adding new products (images, descriptions, placement on shop). Work with Coordinator in all aspects of product delivery for new and reorder items.
• Provide search team with guidance on incoming products and key items.
• Attend key trade shows, meet with licensees on ongoing basis, review competition and other retail venues to stay up to date on trends and competitive issues Manage inventory spend to insure profit objectives are met.
• In tandem with VP, communicate with client licensing teams about licensee performance, product opportunities and sales information.
• Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• BA/BS in related field required.
• 2 year ecommerce buying experience.
• Experience with licensed product (Studios, TV, sports, character, etc).
• Strong knowledge of and/or passion for Harry Potter, Batman, Superman, The Lord of the Rings, The Wizard of Oz. Adventure Time, Regular Show, Steven Universe, and similar brands a plus.
• Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience working with databases.
• Exceptional analytical skills.
• Exceptional product skills (taste level, understanding of consumers).
