Company description: Blindlight is a leading company in the nexus between the videogame industry and Hollywood. Our clients are the top videogame producers worldwide. Our offerings are Hollywood production services, including casting, voice production, performance capture, celebrity dealmaking, scriptwriting, and new production services for videogames. Our suppliers include Hollywood's leading talent agencies, performers and creatives, and production resources.
Blindlight offers great exposure, a wide range of learning opportunities, and plenty of possible paths for career advancement. The work environment is also ideal - in a new A-class office building in the middle of the Sunset Strip.
Responsibilities: This job has two components:
(1) Assistant duties:
• General office administration - including paperwork, filing, copying, mailings, etc.
• Communications activities ¬- including answering phones, initiating calls, managing email, responding to outside communications, and attending and administering meetings with outside parties.
• Time and schedule management - including keeping calendars, scheduling calls and meetings, prioritizing tasks and tracking activities and deadlines.
• Accounting duties - including coding expenses, issuing invoices, managing accounts receivable, tracking payments, and liaisoning with bookkeepers.
• Job tracking - including maintaining jobcode lists, tracking job progress and payment status, etc.
(2) Higher-level opportunities may include:
• Client services - Managing relationships with our clients and offering consultative advice to our clients.
• Talent dealmaking - Negotiating talent deals and drafting talent contracts.
• Sales & Marketing support - including planning sales and marketing initiatives, and communications to clients and prospects.
• Developing partnerships - Building relations and alliances with suppliers, strategic partners, and other complementary companies.
• Operations restructuring - Investigating and implementing more efficient ways to execute our services.
• Business expansion - Assessing, managing and executing new opportunities for business growth, e.g. new product and/or service offerings, new markets, etc.
Qualifications: Strong education in communications, business management, entrepreneurship, entertainment production, or related fields. 1-2 years minimum work experience, with training/experience in one or more of the following areas: assistant, client services, project management, office management, or general business management.
Essential Skills: Independent thinker and team player. Excellent organizational skills. High attention to detail. High energy and enthusiasm. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Comfortable in a self-managed entrepreneurial environment. Must be excited about, and serious about, the business management aspects of entertainment rather than the creative side. Must be comfortable with assistant work, while also interested in seizing more responsibility and advancing into more complex business management activities.
