The Blast Beat Network, the web's leading online advertising network for heavy metal-related websites, seeks an advertising industry professional to help take us to the next level.
Some back-story: The Blast Beat Network has been a profitable business since 2009, powered mostly by advertising from heavy metal record labels and concert promoters, as well as national brands such as Microsoft, Converse, 20th Century Fox, Scion, PETA, and Truth. Given the immensity of our traffic, we think it's time to take things to the next level by working with an even wider range of national brands.
With this in mind, we're looking for an extremely motivated and creative, highly driven integrated media ad sales person who can help us get to that next level. You'll be responsible for making the love connection between our readers and various national brands - soft drinks, snack foods, clothing lines, genre-appropriate movies (e.g., horror, action, sci-fi, etc.), video games, etc. If you know how to hustle national-level ad sales and are ready to start scheming - you need to get in touch.
Full requirements below…
First, some stats about the sites:
The Blast Beat Network serves over 30 million monthly ads to more than 10 million visitors. 45% of our readership is aged 18-45, 66% of the readership is male, and 65% of the readership is from the United States. Traffic has increased every year since we first launched the network in 2009.
Requirements:
2-4 years of online ad sales experience, ideally selling for music and entertainment-related sites. Straight-up: we need someone who's got experience with national-level online ad sales. (Not marketing. Not web design. Ad sales.)
Established connections and endemic relationships with national brands. We've already got great connections with hundreds of amazing music-industry related businesses - we need someone whose smartphone is filled with contacts at national and international companies whose product(s) would be a great fit for our audience, or the media agencies that represent them.
Since 65% of our readers are in the US, we're looking for someone domestic - and given the national brands we want to reach, you probably need to be on the ground in New York (or possibly LA or SF).
Awesome, warm, upbeat personality that translates via phone and email. Amazing communication skills and comfort with cold calls and hunting down leads.
Self-motivated and reliable - you can work from anywhere, and the hours you want… but you have to consistently work it hard, and communicate constantly. You need to be a bulldog.
Loooove blogs and social media. This is our medium. Be geeky with us.
