Big Picture Media is looking for a rockstar to join our NYC team as a full time Publicist!
Bring your positive attitude, passion for success and desire to work in the entertainment industry.
You will spearhead your own campaigns, therefore you must have relationships with the press already!
**You must live in NYC, please do not apply if you do not live in NYC**
Job Requirements:
- College Degree.
- Previous PR experience working at an indie agency or a label (Minimum of 1+ years preferred).
- Knowledge of Cision, Constant Contact, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel is a plus.
- Desire to grow with BPM, not someone looking for a quick job, someone looking for a career with growth potential.
- Passion for life and a sense of urgency when needed.
- Must have knowledge of client relations and problem solving skills.
- Must be able to work with tight deadlines, demands and have leadership skills.
- Must have STRONG media contacts with print media, online media, TV and music/entertainment/celebrity blogs.
- Manage publicity campaigns for music festivals, events, tours, album releases, and companies.
- Develop and execute media relations strategies for each unique client.
- Attend concerts, music festivals, nightly concerts, and industry events always making good face time before or after the show with clients.
- Draft proposals, conduct pitch meetings and pitch calls, and bring in new clients to company roster.
- Manage timing of press releases and arrange all assets including bios, talking points, photo, album details in easy to share manner .
- Ability to self motivate.
- Confidence to excel at your job.
Your daily tasks will be:
· Representing clients on our roster.
· Organizing calls/meetings both internally and with current and potential clients.
· Sorting, pitching, scheduling, and handling tour press for a full client roster.
· Drafting press releases, media alerts, press reports, pitches.
· Prepare biweekly press reports and corresponding emails for all full campaign clients.
· Research fresh features to pitch for clients, both in the music and lifestyle worlds.
· Pull contacts for outlets and brands for pitches and outreach.
· Create lists of top tier press for album advances.
· Keep track of release and campaign timeline.
· Take thorough notes in meetings and on calls.
· Maintaining various client-related or company related publicity documents including press reports, calendars, constant contact, cision, schedules, clips, contact sheets, etc.; clipping, compiling and servicing of press breaks for clients; taking notes at meetings or on calls with clients and/or staff and following up on action items; managing publicity materials, promotional material, etc..
Candidate Must:
· Be impeccably organized and detail-oriented; highly computer literate; social media savvy; have good instincts and be a strategic and forward thinker.
· Be able to work in a fast-paced work environment and eager to learn all aspects of publicity.
· LOVE MUSIC.
· Have solid writing skills and strong interpersonal skills.
· Have a real interest in music/entertainment.
· Be able to work independently and meet deadlines.
