This Un-Paid Fellowship is similar to an internship and is recommended for college students, recent graduates and any other individual interested in learning more about careers in the entertainment industry and gaining practical and portfolio experience.
BiME fellows should be prepared to commit at least two full days per week to BiUS Entertainment. However, some fellows may not be required to come in to the office or set, but must be available to work on necessary projects or activities.
BiME fellows will learn and experience first hand the ins and out of independent media development, production, marketing, social events and technology. Following an unique curriculum developed to enrich and grow the skills and confidence necessary to compete in the entertainment industry, fellow's set weekly and overall program goals, while gaining an in-depth, creative, supportive learning environment.
Departments Available -
Development - Fellows will read scripts, research various entertainment outlets for programming trends and assist BiUSTV to develop various programming from scratch or discover content to acquire and distribute. Over the course of the program, fellows will develop an original project to be considered for production for BiUSTV.
Production - Fellows will work on various media projects and in the many positions that exist on a set. From gaffer to assistant director, fellows will have to opportunity to gain first hand experience working all the positions and learning the skills necessary to run a set. Depending on goal, fellows have the opportunity to direct a piece of content to air on BiUSTV.
Marketing - Fellows will work social and traditional media marketing to expose targeted individuals to BiUSTV's programming, events and overall mission. Over the course of the program, fellows will successfully create, implement and evaluate a marketing campaign for a specific media content or social event.
Social Events - Fellows will work on the various elements it takes to execute events like fundraisers, happy-hours, night-time events or our Annual Summer BBQ. Social Fellows will create, execute and work a fellow curated event to further generate awareness for BiUSTV.
Technology - Fellows will work to successfully design, develop and maintain various technology related activities to media production including video editing, web, graphic and animated designs. Tech Fellow will design and implement a goal-specific project like design a key art image or edit a music video that will air on BiUSTV.
Operations - Fellows will work on overall business operations that are necessary with running an independent media company including financial, HR and legal aspects. Operations fellows will research distribution outlets, learn about financial procedures and various hiring practices that exist in the industry. Fellows will identify, implement, manage and execute a business development project. Ops Fellows are also the project managers over 1 or 2 other BiME Fellows.
BiUSTV is growing this summer with many projects, events and other activities related to expanding the brand. Often this means fellows should expect to be adaptable to work in any and all the various departments that exist in our intimate environment.
