Position: Part time JR Staff Accountant
San Diego 6 is seeking a detailed individual to support the Finance Department. The culture here is upbeat and collaborative providing the opportunity to learn from an accomplished peer group. The Jr. Staff Accountant's day-to-day activities will include: bank reconciliations, fixed asset addition and deletion including depreciation, amortization, analyzing GL transactions and Financial Statements. Additionally, this position requires being familiar with revenue entries and film amortization for broadcasting. This person will be supervised by the Controller, who will assign other activities as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepares general ledger and adjustment entries by maintaining records and files, reconciles accounts
• Interacts with other departments for the reconciliation of all financial entries to provide integrity to financial statement activities.
• Analyzes information by developing spreadsheet reports, verifying information from current software systems
• Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
• Provides financial status information by preparing special reports
• Participates in month-end close, monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting
• Support and assist Controller in compiling extraordinary financial reporting for audits and government compliance
• Assist in preparation and filing of annual 1099's
• Ad hoc projects as requested.
Skills & Requirements:
• BA or Associates degree in accounting or finance or 2-5 years accounting experience preferred
• Experience with Great Plains
• Excel savvy including pivot tables and VLookups.
• Ability to work with multiple office suite of desktop applications
• Meets deadlines
• Organized, manages time well, and can handle multiple tasks at one time
• Attention to detail, data integrity, and accuracy
• Ability to work with limited supervision
• Self-motivated and a quick learner.
• Bilingual Spanish-English is a plus
• Eligible to work the U.S.
• Excel savvy
• Proficient in MS Office
