Barbizon has been providing the entertainment industry with lighting, rigging, and drapery supplies for more than 65 years. Our Arizona office services customers in the southwest region. The company specializes in the supply of entertainment lighting and rigging equipment in venues such as professional theatres, television studios, retail stores, schools, universities and themed environments.
We currently have an opening for a Field Project Coordinator to provide technical support and service to Barbizon's Systems Division located in our Tempe, AZ location.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
• Promote and sell Barbizon service division
• Provide Systems Division and factory commissioning of systems, including low-voltage Terminations
• Provide on-site field service to existing customers
• Technical phone/counter support for products sold
• Provide support and troubleshooting to customers, both on-site and remotely via phone or electronic messaging.
• Provide site surveys, including field dimensions for projects and new opportunities
• Install and configure system software
• Work closely with Project Manager regarding scheduling and on-site coordination of new system turn-ons
• Installation of Lighting equipment on site to include: assembly of distribution and control racks, unpacking and setting up fixtures, hang & focus of fixtures
• Oversight of Barbizon crews and/or Subcontractors
• Job site deliveries via Barbizon Truck
• Setup, connect and operate equipment for demonstrations in- house and in the field
Skills & Attributes
• Understanding of entertainment and architectural lighting and control systems
• Understanding of DMX and network control standards
• Basic electrical skills
• Able to navigate construction sites - ability to work well with contractors and subcontractors
• Proficiency with hand & power tools
• Proficiency with soldering and desoldering practices
• Ability to read and understand construction documentation
• Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Maintain positive attitude and relations with all vendors
• Acquire and maintain appropriate factory certifications
Experience & Educational Requirements
• Background and practical experience in technical aspects of entertainment and architectural systems
• Technical Theatre or Television degree or comparable work experience or equivalent Technical School or Military training
• Valid drivers license
