Directly reporting to the General Manager & National Sales Manager the Sales Manager is responsible for the overall management of staff, sales and customer service. This position will implement sales and marketing strategies to achieve sales goals established with the General Manager & National Sales Manager. Responsibilities will also include executing company policies and guidelines and providing direction and oversight of workflow to sales associates.
Responsibilities include:
• Contact businesses and individuals by telephone in order to promote and sell our goods and services.
• Deliver prepared sales talks, reading from scripts that describe products or services over the telephone.
• Adjust sales scripts to better target the needs and interests of specific individuals.
• Provide Strategic Leadership for Sales- Develop business plan and strategies for maintaining existing customers, attracting new customers and increasing sales volume and profitability. Implement these plans and strategies, utilizing existing personnel and resources.
• Track and report on developments in marketplace, new products lines, manufactures relationships, competition and customer feedback.
• Manage the execution of all ongoing sales activities.
• Providing training for sales personnel on company policies and procedures.
• Provide ongoing training for all sales personnel to improve product knowledge and sales skills.
• Review all sales activity of existing office accounts.
• Find and distribute sales leads to inside and outside sales personnel.
• Coordinate with manufactures for product demonstrations to sales representatives.
• Attend trade shows/create and implement sales opportunities through seminars, open houses, trade associations etc.
• Annual review of employee performance.
• Providing sales quotas/numbers to sales representatives.
• Prepare and host weekly sales meeting.
• Oversee development/maintenance of sales quarterly action plans.
• Manager & maintain CRM database.
• Lead the sales team - determine customer pricing, discount structures, customer incentives, etc.
• Record names, addresses, purchases, and reactions of customers / prospects contacted.
• Confirm orders placed by customer.
• Conduct customer and marketing surveys.
Required skills:
• Leadership - must be able to lead and motivate sales representatives to accomplish sales goals.
• Vision, must be a forward thinker to create new sales strategies.
• Detail and goal oriented.
• Must be well organized and efficient time management.
• Should have pleasant /outgoing personality and good rapport with people.
• Must be highly motivated well organized and efficient.
• Self-confident, reliable and the ability to communicate efficiently.
• Should be self-starter who has the ability to work under pressure to meet sales goals.
• Need initiative, self-discipline, good judgment, and decisiveness.
• Must be able to motivate, organize and direct the work of subordinates and communicate clearly and persuasively with the sales staff and other managers.
Qualified candidate will have:
• Associate or bachelor's degree.
• Three or more years of experience in a leadership role, managing & motivating sales reps.
• Relevant work experience in sales, marketing, promotions or telemarketing.
• Knowledge of sales and marketing principles and strategies.
• Experience working in retail or customer service oriented positions.
