Barbizon Lighting's Capitol office, located in Alexandria, VA, has an immediate full time opening for a Sales Manager for our Products and Expendables Sales Department. The Sales Manager plans, directs, and executes the operations and strategies of the Products and Expendables department while managing staff for optimum performance.
Responsibilities include:
• Provide strategic leadership for the Products and Expendables department
• Develop and execute business plans and strategies for maintaining existing customers and attracting new customers
• Maintain strong working relationships with product vendors and manufacturers
• Increase sales volume and profitability
• Provide direction and oversee the work of sales associates
• Find and distribute sales leads to inside and outside sales personnel
• Coordinate with manufactures for product demonstrations to sales representatives
• Coordinate marketing strategy for the mid-Atlantic region in concert with the Director of Marketing
• Identify and develop a network of related organizations
• Manage & maintain CRM database
• Resolve administrative issues timely
• Create and maintain all related sales reports
• Coordinate with back office departments (warehouse, purchasing and accounting) as needed
• Create and implement policies and procedures for workflow processes.
• Take customer phone calls and assist the customers in identifying their needs with the intent of selling product to the customer
Qualified candidate will have:
• five (5) or more years of experience in a management role in a distribution environment,
• 3-5 years experience in Customer Service, Sales and/or Operations,
• Demonstrated success with turnaround strategies,
• Experience managing teams comprised of both in-house and remote reports,
• Strong working knowledge of Accounts Payables/Receivables and Sales.
• Strong working knowledge of computer systems including but not limited to Microsoft Office required. Ability to adapt to new software.
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills, strong oral and written communications skills and proven ability to operate under pressure.
In order to be successful in this position, the candidate must be able to motivate, organize, and direct the work of the team and communicate clearly and persuasively with the sales staff and other managers.
